ArtistScope provides several solutions for the copy protection of web sites, web pages, images and other embedded media. Those solutions can be purchased for use on your own web site and server. However to install anything at server level requires that you own a web server or at least have Administrator rights to the server. So for those who do not want to bother with the costs and skills required to maintain a dedicated server, ArtistScope now provides managed web hosting on both Windows and Apache web servers.

Our web hosting is not intended as a general hosting service, but rather to provide a service that is otherwise not available. The copy protection solutions that require a dedicated server and thus available as a secure web hosting plan are:

Copy protection for all media can be applied to selected pages in varying degrees. Full instructions for deployment can be found in your Control panel which can be used to manage all aspects of your web site.

Data Center Locations

The ArtistScope server network for both Windows and Apache utilizes a Tier III data center at Equinix. Some of the biggest names in the industry host at Equinix locations. A short list of the companies utilizing this same network are, IBM, Google, Sony Online, General Electric, Electronic Arts, Primedia/About.com, Hotwire, Yahoo!, Microsoft, XMRadio, and YouTube.

Data Backup

For backup, dual layer disk arrays are utilized over a private Gigabit Ethernet network. Each hardware node has a private connection to this network so as to not impact live network traffic.

These web hosting prices include a surcharge for using the Protector and DRM Portal software.

   - Monthly billing allows for unlimted usage within the period.
   - Billing by hits (validatios count) enables low usage economy.

An initial setup fee applies to all new accounts.

This DRM Portal includes all 3 of the components mentioned here (can be purchased for your own server) installed on your own web site hosted by ArtistScope and ready to use. The server side PDF Protector will be able to convert PDF documents as they are uploaded, and authors can manage users, group and document permissions.

Validation service for protected documents uploaded to the server.

   - Monthly billing allows for unlimted usage within the period.
   - Billing by hits (validatios count) enables low usage economy.

An initial setup fee applies to all new accounts.

No web site is required because you will have an author account on the ArtistScope DRM Portal. The Copysafe PDF Protector software needs to be installed on your computer to be able to prepare the protected documents for upload to the portal. A Protector license will be needed to remove the watermark that appears on documents created by the demo.

Converted PDF documents are uploaded to the server to register them in the database so that you can manage users, groups and document permissions online with total control over them.
