Flash Copy Protection The most secure copy protection software for Flash played from web pages.

How to Copy Protect Flash SWF

Flash can be copy protected while played from an embedded viewer on a web page and it can be most secure.

How to copy protect Flash SWF played on a web page

Flash can be played from web pages using what is known as an embedded viewer. Embedded Flash utilize Adobe Flash plugins that are activated by using object tags in your html code. There are Flash plugins available for Internet Explorer and all Mozilla browsers like Firefox. Your embedded viewer can control how the Flash is presented, such as run on load, page position, height and width etc.

Protecting Flash with CopySafe Web

Once you have your Flash playing from the web page, you can now copy protect it from screen recording by adding CopySafe Web to the page. By using CopySafe Web the page and its media can be protected from Printscreen, screen capture and screen recording.

Your embedded Flash code can play Flash movies from various sources. The commonly known resource is having a copy of the Flash movie in a folder somewhere on the web site, which unfortunately can be easily located from the html code and downloaded or played directly. Such playing also leaves a copy in the web browser cache for easy retrieval. But the secure method of providing the source is by using a media server, which when properly configured can ensure that the Flash movie can only be seen using the embedded code on your web page, and can also ensure that the video stream cannot be intercepted and trapped. Other security options such as security tokens for users and pay per view can be activated in Flash Media Server or added by using additional plugins server side.

Flash Media Server is readily available and can provide Flash movies on demand (static archive) or as a live stream (live broadcast). In all cases, to secure your Flash movies from copy and capture all you need to do now is add a single small CopySafe Web image to the player page.

Protecting Flash with ASPS Web Reader

While CopySafe Web is suitable for applying copy protection for use in generic web browsers, it is not as secure as when using the ASPS Web Reader.

The ArtistScope Site Protection System (ASPS) uses a custom web browser that is specially designed to protect web page content and media rather offer it up for grabs like all other browsers do. The ASPS Web Reader will provide the most secure and impenetrable copy protection not only for Flash, but also for all and nay media that can be displayed on a web page. And unlike CopySafe Web your media will still be most secure even when not using a stream server.

If your movies are WMV or MPG then the same applies by using a Windows Media Server... more info.
